How to remove front and rear bumper VW Polo (after 2009)


-turn the wheels to the side depending on which side you will disassemble first.
-in the wheel arches, unscrew the screws that secure the fender liners.
-move the fender liners to the side and unscrew one screw on each side (screwed from the bottom up), which secure the bumper to the fenders.
-under the hood, unscrew the headlight mounting screws and move the headlights forward from the lower mounts.
-unscrew the two screws on the edges of the radiator grille (screwed from top to bottom).

-unscrew the screws around the perimeter at the bottom of the bumper (screwed from the bottom up).
-release the bumper from the latches, two under the headlights and four on the radiator grille.
-with an assistant, pull the edges of the bumper to the sides, tearing it off the latches, and pull it forward.
-remove the connector from the parking sensors (if any).
-disconnect the headlight washer hoses (if any). To prevent liquid from leaking out of the tank, you will need to plug the hoses with plugs or bend them.
-remove the connector from the fog lights (if any).

Rear bumper





-in the trunk, remove the plugs on the sides (you need to get access to the rear lights).
-under the plugs, unscrew one screw on each side, disconnect the connectors and remove the rear lights.
-unscrew the screws and pull out the pins along the perimeter at the bottom (screwed from the bottom up).
-unscrew the screws in the wheel arches that secure the bumper to the fender liners and guides (in order not to remove the wheels, it is more convenient to unscrew with a ratchet with a nozzle).
-move the mudguards to the side and unscrew one screw on each side in the corners (screwed from the bottom up).

-release the clips under the rear lights.
-release the clips in the fenders (pull the edges to the sides).
-with an assistant, pull the bumper back from the guides.
-remove the connectors from the license plate light.
-remove the connector from the parking sensors (if any).
