How to remove the front and rear bumper of a VW Phaeton


-unscrew six screws under the radiator grille (screwed from top to bottom).
-in the openings for the fog lights, unscrew one screw on each side and remove the decorative trims.
-under the trims, unscrew one screw on each side.
-at the bottom, in the middle, pull out three pistons and unscrew two screws at the edges (screwed from bottom to top).
-turn the wheels to the side depending on which side you will disassemble first.
-in the wheel arches, unscrew the screws that secure the fender liners.
-move the fender liners to the side and unscrew one screw on each side in the upper corners (screwed from bottom to top).

-also unscrew one screw on each side under the headlights behind the fenders (you will need a head with an extension).
-the headlight washer covers need to be raised to a fixed position.
-with an assistant, pull the edges of the bumper to the sides, tearing it off the latches, and pull it forward from the guides.
-remove the connector from the parking sensors (if any).
-remove the connector from the fog lights (if any).

Rear bumper





-in the trunk, remove the side trims (you need to get access to the back of the taillights).
-under the trims, unscrew the screws and remove the taillights.
-also under the trims, in the corners, unscrew two screws on each side. Depending on the year of manufacture, you may have to remove the battery and fuse box.
-unscrew two screws on each side under the taillights.
-unscrew the screws and pull out the pins in the wheel arches that secure the bumper to the fender liners (in order not to remove the wheels, it is more convenient to unscrew with a ratchet with a nozzle).

-unscrew the screws at the bottom (screwed from the bottom up).
-with an assistant, pull the bumper back from the side guides.
-remove the connectors from the lighting.
-remove the connector from the parking sensors (if any).
