How to remove front and rear bumper Toyota Avensis MK1 (1997 - 2003)


Depending on the year of manufacture and the type of model, the mounting locations may differ.

-open the hood and unscrew the screws (screwed from top to bottom).
-remove the radiator grille and unscrew the screw under it.
-remove the turn signals (you need to pry the latch from the inside with a screwdriver and pull the turn signal out).
-unscrew one screw on each side in the turn signal opening.
-under the car, unscrew the screws around the perimeter (screwed from bottom to top), which secure the lower part.
-turn the wheels to the left or right side, depending on which side we will disassemble first.
-in the wheel arches, unscrew the screws that secure the fender liners.

-move the fender liners aside and unscrew one screw on each side (screwed from the bottom up), which secure the corners to the fenders.
-with an assistant, pull the bumper off the guides towards you.
-if there are headlight washers, disconnect the hoses. You should prepare a container for the windshield wiper in advance.
-remove the connector from the parking sensors (if any).
-remove the connector from the fog lights (if any).

Rear bumper





Depending on the year of manufacture and the type of model, the mounting locations differ.
-open the trunk lid and unscrew the screws in the opening.
-remove the rear panel trim and unscrew the nuts under it (you will need a head with an extension). In the station wagon, there are also screws in the trunk opening at the corners.
-in the wheel arches, unscrew the screws that secure the fender liners.
-move the fender liners to the side and unscrew one screw on each side (screwed from the bottom up), which secure the corners to the fenders.

-we pull out the pins and unscrew the screws along the perimeter in the lower part (inserted and screwed from the bottom up) (there may be only screws).
-with an assistant, we release the bumper from the latches and pull it off the guides towards ourselves.
-if there is a parking sensor, we remove the connector.
