How to Remove Front and Rear Bumper Subaru Forester SF (1997-2002)


-open the hood.
-pull out the pins, release them from the latches (pull them towards you) and remove the radiator grille.
-release them from the latches and remove the "eyelashes" under the headlights.
-unscrew the bolts and remove the headlights.
-pull out the seven pins that secure the upper part.

-we pull out the pins along the perimeter of the lower part and unscrew the screws (inserted and screwed from the bottom up).
-we turn out the wheels depending on which side we will disassemble.

-in the wheel arches we release the fender liners.
-behind the fender liners we unscrew one screw on each side (screwed from the bottom up), which fasten the corners of the bumper to the fenders.

-with an assistant, carefully pull the bumper forward (be careful not to break the wires).
-remove the connectors from the electrical equipment (if any).



Rear bumper





-open the trunk door.
- in the trunk opening, unscrew the five screws and pull out the piston in the middle.
- pull out the pistons and unscrew the screws that secure the lower part and corners of the bumper to the fenders.

- climb under the car and unscrew the bolts that secure the iron bumper reinforcement to the body.

- with an assistant, carefully pull the bumper back.
- disconnect the electrical equipment connectors.
