How to remove the front and rear bumper of a VW Passat B5


-under the hood, Unscrew the screws that secure the radiator grille.
-remove the lower part of the radiator grille from the latches.
-if the grille needs to be removed completely, remove the hood opening lever. We tilt the latch upward and use a flat screwdriver to separate the ears that secure the lever to the lock.
-under the grille, Unscrew the screws under the asterisk.

-remove the direction indicators. Behind the headlights, remove the springs with hooks and push the direction indicators into the front from the guides.
-Unscrew the screws under the direction indicators.
-we unscrew the wheels to the left or right, depending on which side you will disassemble.
-in the wheel arches, Unscrew the screws that secure the fender liners to the bumper.
-move the fender liners to the side and Unscrew the screws that secure the bumper to the wings.
-Unscrew the lower screws that secure the bumper to the engine protection.

-pull the bumper from the guides to the front (it’s better to do this with an assistant so as not to scratch the paint on the wings).
-now you can disconnect the connectors from the fog lights and (if any).
-remove the connector from the parking sensors (if equipped).
- if there are headlight washers, disconnect the hoses from the injectors and close them with plugs so that liquid does not leak out of the reservoir.

Rear bumper





-in the wheel arches, unscrew the screws that secure the fender liners to the bumper (in order not to remove the wheels, you can use a ratchet with an attachment).
-in the trunk, under the plugs in the trim, unscrew three nuts on each side and remove the rear lights.
-Unscrew the fastening screws under the rear lights.
-Unscrew the screws around the perimeter at the bottom of the bumper (twisted from bottom to top).

-pull the bumper back from the guides (it’s better to do this with an assistant so as not to scratch the paint on the wings).
-remove the connector from the parking sensors (if equipped).
