FORScan is a simple software scanner for Ford vehicles equipped with OBD2 support without CAN, which works with OBD2-RS323 adapters such as ELM327 / ELM320.
Nowadays there are many OBD2 scanners, what does FORScan boast about? The fact that it is specially designed for Ford cars and is not compatible with cars from other manufacturers, even if they have an OBD2 connector. However, FORScan is compatible with vehicles that use the same Ford protocol family (Mazda, Mercury, etc.). Thus, FORScan supports specific features of Ford protocols and this is its advantage over other scanners.

For example, FORScan can detect modules that regular OBD2 scanners cannot see; show fault codes that other OBD2 scanners do not understand; display, and at a very high speed, parameters (PIDs) unavailable for OBD2 scanners. In other words, FORScan can do what other scanners cannot.

Also, FORScan has a number of other advantages. For example, FORScan is a FREE software product, which is a big plus for this class of software. Plus, it's fast, takes up little space and is easy to use.

Key features

Reading and resetting error codes of all modules (see the list of supported modules)
Fast readout of data from engine sensors
Run diagnostic tests (only KOEO and KOER are available in the current version)

Supported modules:
Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
Transmission Control Module (TCM)
Anti-lock braking system - ABS
Restraint Control Module (RCM)
General Electronic Module (GEM)
Instrument Panel Module (Hybrid Electronic Cluster - HEC)
Electronic Air Temperature Controller (EATC)
Audio Control Module (ACM)

Supported cars:

Any car of Ford brand (except CAN), which is defined by adapters ELM320 and ELM327. Ford vehicles with CAN bus are not supported yet (we hope to implement it in future versions of the program).

Supported protocols:
FORD SCP (J1850 PWM)
FORD 9141 (ELM327 only)

2014-05-01 version

Redesigned service function "Change of fuel injector correction factors" for pre-CAN TDCi engines:

Focus Mk1 1.8 TDCi 2001/2002 MG
Mondeo Mk3 2.0 / 2.2 TDCi 2001 MG (before and after restyling in 2003)
Transit 2.0 / 2.4 TDCi 2000/2001 MG
Transit Connect 1.8 TDCi 2002 MG

Note: This feature was removed in 2.1.16 as it does not work on many models. It is now fixed, improved and tested.
+ New PIDs for hybrid vehicles (CHARGELIM, DISCHARGELIM and others)
+ Direct access to USB ELM327 via FTDI D2xx (for adapters with onboard FTDI chip)
+ New tests for Powerstroke diesel engines "KOEO self-diagnosis of the electrical part of the injectors" so-called. "buzz test", "KOER self-diagnosis of power distribution among cylinders", "KOER self-diagnosis of circuit breaker"
Note: not tested on real vehicles
* improvements in the procedure for performing self-diagnostic tests
* improvements in the KAM reset procedure (fixing the problem on Falcon BA 2003)
* fixes and improvements to the PID database
* fixes and improvements in the procedure of communication with the car
* fixes and improvements in the active test "Manual fuel injectors test" for Mazda
* fixes and improvements in the service procedure "Calibration of discharge head lamps" for Mondeo Mk3
- an error in the connection procedure, leading to the stalling of the TDCi engine on some Mondeo 3 models
- an error in the vehicle identification procedure
- a bug that prevented the detection of some modules (for example, TCM on some Fiesta / Fusion models)

Requirements

OBD2-RS232 adapter type ELM327 or ELM320 connected to a laptop or any other device running Windows 2000 / XP / Vista / 7.
