Here are some tips for using the authors of the program:
If the mileage is recorded on EEPROM, and there are several (identical) on the board, then you must select the closest one to the display or processor.
Some microcircuits have read / write protection; to work with them, programmers bypass this protection are required.
After you read the contents of memory, analyze it, if it contains only 00 or FF, this means that the contents were not read correctly.
After reading the contents of the memory, be sure to back up this data.
Try to write down the new mileage value on a new chip, so that in case of something you will always have the original at hand.
Before changing the mileage, calculate the current one and compare it with the original contents of the chip's firmware.
The read and calculated data may differ for several reasons:
1. It may be necessary to make a SWAP (swap the high and low bytes). For example: ABCD -> CDAB
2. As a rule, the mileage calculation algorithm is secret (closed) information of the flap manufacturers, and the algorithms used in the program can sometimes be mistaken by + - 250 km. This may not be that important for the mileage adjustment, but you should take this into account when comparing the calculated and read mileage.
3. Manufacturers of shields can change the offset (location, data address) of the mileage, in this case, study the firmware completely
