How to remove the front and rear bumper of a Peugeot 406


-open the hood.
-under the hood, take out the pistons (there may be screws) and remove the radiator grille upwards.
-under the grille, unscrew the screws and release the latches.

-unscrew three screws on each side and remove the headlights (depending on the year of manufacture and engine, the battery and washer reservoir may interfere).
-behind the headlights, in the wings, you need to turn the clamps 90 degrees
-Unscrew the screws along the perimeter of the lower part.
-depending on which side we will disassemble, turn the wheels out.
-in the wheel arches we release the fender liners (you don’t have to remove them completely).

-behind the fender liners, Unscrew one screw on each side that secures the corners of the bumper to the wings.
-pull the bumper forward (make sure not to tear the wires and hoses).
-remove the connectors from the fog lights (if any).
-(if any) disconnect the washer hoses (liquid may leak).

Rear bumper





-open the trunk lid.
-in the trunk, remove the rear and side trims.

-behind the skins, Unscrew the six nuts (two under the rear lights and one in the wings on each side).
-in the wheel arches, unscrew the screws and release the fender liners (you don’t have to completely remove them).

-behind the fender liners, Unscrew one screw on each side that secures the corners of the bumper to the wings.
-from the bottom side, unscrew the screws that secure the lower part (twisted from bottom to top).

-with an assistant, carefully (make sure not to break the wires) pull the bumper back.
-remove the connectors from the electrical equipment (if any).
