Add. Information: In 1967, the second generation of the Transporter appeared. It retained the T1 approach in terms of chassis and design. T2 began to be produced like its predecessor T1 at the Hannover plant. Of the more than 2.5 million T2 vehicles produced in Germany, two-thirds were exported.
The new transporter had a more comfortable cabin with an undivided windshield, an improved rear suspension and a more powerful engine. Sliding doors on the sides became standard.
